All the Black Slaves back then had to follow these rules, some of these were for also for white people. They weren't all created at the same time, they were created as time went on. We will show you when these rules were made. These aren't all the rules that were made, but these are some of the rules we thought that were important.

Slave Code
- If a slave runs away or strikes a white person (1690) - severely whipped, slitting the nose, burning some part of the face with hot iron. Death for those who attack whites a second or third time.
- Free saves (1712) - If a free slave does not leave South Carolina in a time period of 6 months, he or she will be re-enslaved and sold at public action.
- (1739) Slaves cannot be taught to read and write, work on Sunday, or work more than fifteen hours per day in summer and fourteen hours per day in winter.
- (1740) Slaves can never attack a white person except in defense of their master's life.
- (1820) Free blacks cannot enter South Carolina.
